Following a site audit conducted on 11 December 2018 to 14 December 2018, a delegate of the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner made a decision that Bunyundah Nominees Pty Ltd failed to meet eight expected outcomes in the Accreditation Standards in relation to Canberra Aged Care Facility. On 18 January 2019 a decision was made that failure to meet two of these expected outcomes has placed the safety, health or wellbeing of care recipients of the service at serious risk. The Department of Health has been notified of the risk. Serious risk is not an ongoing state; it is a statutory decision based on evidence at a point in time. The Commission will continue to monitor the performance of the service including through unannounced visits.
